Mission
Just to be clear, this page has no official affiliation with Gator at all. This page was started and run by 2 drummers who have never met and are located on opposite sides of Australia.

http://www.gatorcases.com/Support/WarrantyClaimForm and fill it out accordingly.

From there its basically a waiting game. You will be contacted by someone from Gators insurance company who will take care of your claim. They are handling a LOT of claims from this Gator issue, so be patient. So far many claims have been paid out, and there are still more to come, and we can only assume there will be more and more to to be discovered in the future.
4. Regarding having your cases replaced. If you are in Australia you need to email Troy Steele
[email protected] who is the customer support manager for Jands PTY LTD who are now handling gator distribution in Australia. Once your claim has been approved by Gator, they will let you and Troy know that your claim has been signed off, at which point he has approval to replace your cases.
Im not entirely sure what the process in other countries other than Australia is regarding the replacement of cases, but a simple email to
[email protected] will provide you with the answer pretty quick
If any of your colleagues are effected by the Gator Case issue, send them to this page so they too can get the info.
Photos of your affected kit will most likely appear on this Facebook page. The more kits we have represented, the better.
Description
This page started as a bid to get recognition from Gator that there was a major problem with some of their cases, and to get compensation from Gator to cover the mounting costs and have cases replaced.
The good news it has worked. After many many months (well over a year) Gator have begun paying out on damages and replacing cases. It must be said that since Gator have admitted the issue that their insurance company as been great in dealing with a large number of claims.
Below is the long awaited official statement from gator:
"We, at Gator Cases, are aware of an issue specifically related to our ‘GPR’ series drum cases that may cause corrosion to drum hardware. In our research it was determined that this issue was limited to a batch of GPR cases manufactured in 2007/2008. The adhesive material used in this line of cases, when exposed to high temperature and humidity, causes a chemical reaction that in turn can cause corrosion to drum hardware.
We wish to express our sincerest apologies to anyone who has been affected by this issue. Please rest assured all of us at Gator Cases are taking this issue very seriously and doing everything in our power to resolve this in an effective and timely manner. With that being said, it is important that we fully clarify the situation and what is being done to resolve it.
The drum rust issue only affected one specific series of drum cases, the GPR series. It should be noted that the GPR series is no longer in production and has been discontinued and removed from our product line since 2009. An image of the GPR cases is included below. As shown, these cases are all black with black nylon straps, a metal Gator name plate, and a molded wave design on the lids. It is important that we do not confuse the GPR series with our current ‘Protechtor’ drum case line, or any other Gator Cases product for that matter. There are no issues with the Protechtor series drum cases; these are made in the USA from a different factory.
What should you do if you own the ‘GPR’ series and have experienced any issues with drum corrosion?
Please complete the warranty claim form on the Gator Cases website:
http://www.gatorcases.com/support/warra ... -form.aspx
Once you have completed the claim form, you will be contacted by a representative from our insurance company, who will be requesting the following information:
- A copy of your original sales receipt or proof of purchase from your drum case purchase
- Photographs of both the cases and the effected hardware
Unfortunately, there has been a recent increase in falsified claims made which has required us to hire an outside expert to implement a testing procedure that will verify whether or not the cases in question have been affected by this issue.
Once you have provided all the necessary documentation and your claim is approved, a settlement payment will be made to you as a reimbursement to cover the costs of repair.
We ask that you please be patient during this process. If you wish to contact Gator Cases directly regarding this issue, please email us at
[email protected]"
